About
Application "Sound Meter HQ Pro" uses built-in microphone to calculate sound level (noise level) of surrounding. Result of the measurements is displayed in decibels on the screen of you phone. DISCLAIMER: Don't treat this utility app as a professional device to measure decibels. This tool uses built-in microphone, which was designed to capture human's voice. Such microphone is not able to capture sounds above ~90 - 100 dB (Maximum value differs depending on kind of microphone you have). In addition, some devices are equipped with AGC (Automatic Gain Control). This system can also disturb correct sound pressure level measurement. Measured noise level is presented with the help of indicator on the gauge. Loudness level varies between 0 and 140 dB. Besides live noise measurement the application displays also minimum and maximum registered level of the sound. You can clear it any time by using "Reset" button. Moreover our tool displays noise power in descriptive way. Available descriptive sound measure thresholds: 10 dB - Breathing 20 dB - Rustling leaves 30 dB β Whisper 40 dB β Quiet library 50 dB β Moderate rainfall 60 dB β Normal conversation 70 dB β Vacuum cleaner 80 dB β Food blender 90 dB β Power tools 100 dB β Motorcycle 110 dB β Rock concert 120 dB β Chain saw 130 dB β Jet takeoff (100m away) 140 dB β Shotgun Decibel meter calibration: If you have access or you possess professional sound pressure level measurements device (SPL meter) you can use it to calibrate our app. Firstly, check current decibel reading on scientific measurement device. Next open our calibration menu (calibration icon under MAX value) i our app and set the same value using +,- buttons. Features of application: π quick reaction to sound level change π decibel level presented on the gauge and in the descriptive way πminimum and maximum measurements levels. πpossibility of calibration the result according to professional device.

Using this to set up home cinema amp. Just need to know the speakers are all at a required level when adjusted. It's an app so not going to be as accurate as professional equipment but gets the job done just fine. No ads always a bonus.

I turned on the radio in my truck and walked away. I asked Google for a sound decibel app and look through it and shows this one. I licked it over and then took it to the loudest speaker of four in my truck and it was sad about 65 and went up to 70 I walked behind the truck directly and it was down to 61 then I walked away about 40 ft and it was down even less. I can hear that radio very well at 70 ft away without harming The neighbors quiet peace at their property. Thanks sound meter HQ pro

Excellent App, simple to view. Like the lowest & highest values. Colour scheme looks good as well. Two thoughts - perhaps make info text a little smaller (or fix text and allow indicator bar to move up & down) to always stay on screen (top values disappear when registering low values) and would be nice to be able to store & edit history. Apart from that a great app worthy of 5 stars.

This app works fine for me and I love that this app has no ads. I don't know about the accuracy, but several reviews here says that this app's result is similar, or close, to their actual sound meter.

Motorola G Play 2021 - Meter about 10 db too high from actual noise level at base level. Calibration option helps mitigate by adjusting it minus 10 db but I think it's still over estimating realtime db levels by 5 to 10 db on average. Concluding this based on another app which is ultra sensitive to sound levels & appears to be more accurate. Once adjusted both apps rested at about 21 db. However, this one appears to overshoot db level detection.

Great for checking guitar resonance values for acoustics or string diameter to sound. Ya know, thin strings not as loud as thick but easier to play. I would like to see higher numbers on the meter, like rock concert numbers 190, or my truck exhaust at 200+. Love the app on my droid!

I'm older and my hearing is already compromised so I'm more concerned now about protecting what hearing I have left. Sound Meter HQ Pro is providing instant feedback to help me either add ear protection or move away if necessary. I am absolutely impressed and thankful for this app. I definitely recommend this app.

Pretty decent sound level meter. I adjusted it a bit, to bring it to agreement with my pro-level meter...but it was fairly accurate as downloaded. I really like the fact that the app doesn't require a bunch of unrelated permissions. It doesn't have a lot of fancy features, but then again - why would it need them? It is simple and effective. Well done.

On top of helping me i located this app and other by them. Ill let you no how other works out. Im just trying to keep po po off me because of music kickover 100 deciable. Straight pipe exhaust over 130. I only found out when i down loaded the app. Every one needs to have it .

No adds. Thank you The thing at the top telling you what ever day sound matches your current spl is annoying. It moves around way too much, distracting your eyes. For me even an analog style graphic is annoying. Mimum screen motion is ideal, all I want is the number. I have not done any tests to check the accuracy of the reading. I was bullied into writing this review by the app notifications which happened like 4 times while having the app for 20 mins This is way better than having ads thanks

Smooth and accurate on my phone, but can't speak for other phones. Of course, no one likes advertising on working equipment. I would recommend this app anyway.
